Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing all financial operations of The Peace Aid Foundation and its subsidiaries. This position ensures compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, maintains fiscal transparency, and supports the organization’s strategic growth. The CFO develops and manages financial systems that sustain programs across the United States, Europe, and partner regions.
Key Responsibilities
• Direct all financial planning, budgeting, and reporting functions.
• Manage accounting, audits, and regulatory filings in accordance with GAAP and IRS 501(c)(3) requirements.
• Oversee investment strategies, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
• Lead the development of internal controls, compliance procedures, and financial risk management systems.
• Supervise the Finance and Accounting Team, Audit and Compliance Staff, and Grants and Contracts Management.
• Provide quarterly financial reports to the Finance and Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.
• Support grant management and ensure the proper allocation of restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term financial strategy and organizational sustainability.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum ten years of progressive experience in nonprofit financial leadership, accounting, or related executive roles.
• CPA or equivalent professional credential preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with GAAP accounting, audit preparation, and nonprofit compliance.
• Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and international grant management a plus.

Reports to: President & Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: Finance and Accounting Team, Audit and Compliance Staff, and Grants and Contracts Management.

The Peace Aid Foundation offers a competitive compensation package aligned with organizational capacity and nonprofit standards.
